Hi, Owen, you just need to put an 'h' in front of that link to make it work. Good stuff, eh?

I can't play any of the clips - not sure if it's a computer problem or because I don't live in UK.  I know we can't get BBC iPlayer stuff.

As a point of interest re overseas broadcasting, for reasons I won't bore you with, I wanted to watch a section of Leni Riefenstahl's film of Hitler's Nuremburg Rallies in the 30's.  There was a "You Tube" recording but, on clicking it, a message appeared saying "This video is not available in your country" !!   Apparently,   Nazi propaganda, in all and any form,  is still strictly banned in France.  Now that's censorship for you !!!!!

China has been doing the censoring for some time. Some countries  stop Flickr as well - I think Novice has found this out.

Oh yes it can Owen, and they do !!  It's a real "Big Brother" situation with the internet and it's about to start in UK.

Apparently here Owen, they record everything you do on the net and have done for years - a bit like Google "flagging" people who look at sites on "how to make bombs" or "how to grow cocain" etc.  They don't actually record what you type but they do record the sites you visit.  It was "You Tube" who prevented me watching that particular video because it knew I was in France.  I did actually see what I wanted via another site so obviously the french authorities can't actually stop stuff coming in (unless they bug your phone lines) but with people like "You Tube" and BBC, they can put a stop on me watching from here in France at the source.

I can watch "You Tube" Sol - it's certainly not banned, it was just that particular film that was the problem and I assume, that was by prior agreement between "You Tube" and the French authorities.  A bit like not being able to watch BBC i-Player.  Technically, I should be able to but it's technically illegal so BBC have obviously put a stop on it being "beamed" into France.  I'm not sure if our Spanish friends can get it either ?  It's all to do with licencing arrangements between the two countries.

The position is the same here in Spain unless of course I want to pay. For £5 a month I can watch anything here in Spain, France, or anywhere else in the world just the same as if I was in the UK. Have a look at this if you are interested :

Eastenders, Coronation Street, any of the usual rubbish is OK with me. Whilst Moira is busy watching that, I can get upstairs into my layout room and do something interesting. :thumbs:thumbs
