Photographic archive

Following on from Ron's thread showing old films of Nottingham, I found this on You Tube.  It's the station I most remember as a nipper in Leeds - Leeds "City" station seemed far too modern and clinical.  Central Station was demolished over 10 years after I left Leeds but I remember seeing the demolition works when visiting relatives later.  Very sad for me.

The clip is just photographs, not video,  but it struck me that it contains a wealth of reference material - both railway and social.

Never been to Leeds but your right about it being sad Peter, it's like tearing down part of our heritage , but I suppose that's progress.

Perhaps it's just me but the streets always look to be relatively clean in  these older photographs, as I remember the streets in south London were in the late 50's early 60s.

Before the curses of the black sack and plastic supermarket carrier bag, perhaps.
