We had a topic on What Gauge but not What Scale/Gauge which are two different things.

So I have added a poll - just vote - no need to post a comment unless there is another one I missed - the poll can only have 12 options.

Of course 00, 009, EM & P4 are all 4mm to the foot & in these cases, it is the gauge which provides the difference.

For those modelling narrow Gauge of a specific generic scale, you can also select that option

I've gone for OO (as that's my home layout) but also ticked P4 and O, because that's what I do at my local club.

Problem is that the poll only allows you to vote for 1, so my first choice (OO) has been registered.

Being a UK-based group (though with worldwide membership of course) the dominance of 00 is no surprise.  That was my own selection though I use items of HO and 1:72 scale as well and have some 1:100 model people which are used as children.

What is encouraging is to see the spread of scales modelled.  This shows us to be a diverse community with skills and experience across a wide range of scales.

And perhaps if Darren (B67) were to see this and include his vote then we might get a score in the ultra-small section as well!

00 and n for me although I voted 00 as I have two 00 layouts on the go at the moment. I did think garden but I assume that garden refers to the big stuff! ;-)

Basic RTR 00 UK outline for me.  Peco code 100 track throughout and all rolling stock at the moment is either Bachmann or Hornby with just one Heljan class 57 in the mix.

The vast majority of the time I have available goes into the basics of building a fairly large loft layout and learning as I go.  My only departure has been installation of lighting in various locos - not sure why this appeals to me so much but it does provide an enjoyable departure on the workbench out of the loft.

For the future I look forward to the stage where I can spend some time learning to weather and detail locos and rolling stock - inspired by the some of the superb examples demonstrated on this forum.

I do HO and OO as they both run on the same track.  I have my layout divided into sections which are dedicted to UK or German outline.
