That is , hours per WEEK.
OK, based on what I read in various threads, some YMRers spend some hours per week on the hobby.Me, I spend a minimum of 24 hours a week on my layout - some days I may get to spend 8 hours on the hobby.
It does not included time spent on forums or running on other layouts.
So this poll is just to see how many hours a WEEK you spend on the layout.

It's difficult to seperate computer hours from modelling hours, but if I included the time at the moment spent planning for the 2010 show etc., then my hours per week would take off thumbs:thumbs

I reckon to spend about an hour most evenings attending to some part of the hobby whether it be detailing the stock, painting a kit or something else indoors.
I have had a whole day once a week to devote to hobby interests (not only modelling and not exclusively transport subjects) but tomorrow will be the last of those thanks to a change in the work environment.
On the positive side the layout is in quite good shape coming out of winter as compared with previous years so may not need as much elbow-grease to keep it running smoothly this year.

This weekend just gone, a long one as Friday was an RDO, probably saw 5 hours per day as I realigned my track bed to reduce the grades/banks as much as possible.
Some times life gets in the way and nothing will happen for weeks, other times I'll get a good run at spending time on the layout.
Slowly, steadily.

(that's four on four off) so I get more spare time than some one who holds a conventional day job Mon-Fri with just 2 days off.
I usually spend at least 2 of my four days doing something modeling related even if it's just research for the next project.
Once I get on the bench though I like to plod on and can spend up to 8 hours at a time on something, just breaking for coffees and food breaks.
Even at work (like NOW!) I'm up to something like reading the posts on the forums!

Same here. It is zero at the moment as it is so cold outside. The garage is a most uninviting place. I am working indoors on my West Highland station building. and further tanks for my tank train. These days it would be lucky to be one hour a week.

Not all will be railway time - there are some long-overdue jobs around the house and garden to attend to - but I hope to be able to spend around 4 hours on each of three days attending to the hobby.
