With this new forum, it seems we have lost the New Posts section that was on the old forum in that only new posts since we last visited ,are displayed.

This forum has Recent which lists ALL posts over a period of time from hours to days.

Icons can tell us if we have read them but it can be over a couple of pages.

I do not know if we can get the New Posts back but let us have a poll on this.

Got to confess I'm struggling to spot all the new ones. I'll get there though.

I am certainly having trouble working out which are new.  The green arrow does not always appear…

There's an option for that which the moderator can change.

However, the green arrow won't appear if it's a new topic and you haven't read any of the posts in it. Look for the red NEW in the icon.

You might get your wish in the next upgrade.

As I understand it, the option for "Posts since last visit" isn't available yet (Martin told us that on the test forum).

I have however, voted for the "posts since last visit", as when available, I would prefer to have it back. I found it much easier, plus being away for a few weeks would not cause me to miss "out of date" posts either.

I agree with Jeff, so long as the update isn't too complicated.  It was a convenient feature for those times when I am in a hurry to catch up with posts:roll:

6 written replies, but only 4 votes showing?

Is it me doing something wrong?

I must admit to not having any difficulty with finding recent posts.
1. I am using the Sea style and when looking at the front page and see the rotating shell, which indictaes new posts, I click on that section.
2. This gives me a whole raft of choices but I click on Recent.
3. There I can see, by means of the little green arrow, which posts I haven't read.
After a couple of goes at this I find it very quick. Obviously not as good as we have been used to but until we get something different we must each find our own way. I can't give you what isn't there to give.

I also prefer the 'posts since last visit' option. It seemed easier to find the posts than the 'recent' tab

i like the recent posts, i could be online for 20 nins then log off then on again 60 mins later for 15 mins. using the old method posts since last visit i would miss out on a lot of info. as when i logged on for the second time it would only show posts since my last visit 60 mins ago. with this new system i can click on recent and go back to the last post i visited and crack on.

Now that I am getting used to it and the green tick seems to be behaving it is better than I first thought, although it will take a bit of getting used to that the recent also contains items you have read.

I am quite comfortable with it now that I have found the best way of doing it for me and I'm sure I'm not missing any posts.

I'm happy with "Recent Posts".

I agree the old "new" function was useful but if for any reason, I had to switch off (thunderstorms etc.) before I'd read them all, then I lost them and had to trawl through the whole forum (I think !!) to catch up.  This way, I can spot the green arrow and read what's been posted since my last visit - very useful.

I like having new posts since last visit as it identifies all the new stuff to look at.

Recent posts is handy so you can review something you looked at before.  So both would be good.

Well, I am like a woman - changed my mind! ( now ducks for cover from Vinny)

I started the poll & voted for New  Posts only but reading the above & thinking more about that after many other posts on Suggestions, etc, I  would be happy for both options.

I'm working this way too and don't believe I'm missing any posts.

I've voted for both but the recent posts tab works fine for me.
