Is your layout based on a prototype or is it a freelance one? Maybe a prototype with a bit of modellers licence perhaps?
Barchester is freelance through and through, in it's scenery, buildings and layout.

Freelance, for sure, for me. It encourages me to be more creative, I think.

I'm freelance too, although like my signature line says, the layout is based on what my area could have turned out like "If".
Lots of scope there, especially when I want to run a loco that never got this far West,

Freelance for mine too Bob, On the left side of my layout I will try and somewhat prototype my home town city shops, but the rest is all up to my imagination.

I like to model actual prototypical buildings as you probably know, but the layout is basically freelance with a fair bit of modellers licence thown in.

How's that for sitting on the fence?

Have used a particular area and station for inspiration. Track plan is Exeter St Davids (based on real one) with incline to a different Exeter Central. Rolling stock is of 1955 period. Thereater so much modellers licence that its almost freelance. Have therefore voted modellers licence - an awful lot of it. :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:
