I've just been to the Blyth MRC 40th show today and have taken lots of photos and videos which I am trying to sort out in order to post. However, using a new camera I took some of the videos with the camera inverted to get a better view. Now that I play them back in Windows Media Player or any other video player the playback is on its side. Does anyone know of a fix to turn the image around on the screen as you can do with a photo? In the meantime I'll load up the ones that are okay.

Thanks

I'm very much a learner when it comes to AVI files, Mojo, but I am aware of free software on the web such as AVS Video Converter, which have many tricks up their sleeves.  I'm sure that more experienced members will be of greater help though :???:

Just had a look at the AVS Video Converter page Tim and the download is free but the program costs $49, or am I missing something. Maybe it's free with just a couple of features missing that are in the paid for version. If it's a freebie then it can go in our Index.

Thanks, Tim, I'll follow it up. Another one is virtualdub, another freebie, but when I use it the picture stutters. Will keep trying.

Happy Thanksgiving.

The easy and free way is to use windows movie maker !! Once imported the file can be rotated, it is one of the "video effects"

Either that or when you post the vids warn us to turn our screens on there sides.

Seems Windows Movie maker is the (free) way to rotate vidoes taken when the camera is used in portrait rather than landscape. The ones I posted of Hazlebury yard in the Blyth MRC 40th section, which had come out rotated, went back in no problem and show no signs of degradation. Any stuttering seems to be caused by the compression programme Photobucket uses to fit them on the site. Thanks again, RJR.
