Building/re-buiding a pair of Langley N gauge loco kits

Some people may remember me driving a Collett 0-6-0 off the end of my Perranporth layout 10 years ago at Carn Brea…:roll:.Testiment to whoever built her,I put her back on the layout and she still worked!! There was always something about the loco that bothered me! It didn't look 'right' somehow.I also got myself one unbuilt that I decided I wanted to build myself…now the destructions say use a Grafar Hall chassis….Halls had 6 foot driving wheels!!! Colletts drivers were 5 foot two!! To confuse matters further,Wikipedia states Langley say use a GF 94xx general purpose tank loco chassis….
Whoever's to blame, the instructions with MY kit clearly,(wrongly)stated a Hall chassis was required, but I will be ignoring them and fitting the closest chassis available.The one that I am re-building will be numbered 2258,and the one I am building from the box will be 2281.Here is a shot of the two ladies as they stand before any painting or detailing…




 The tenders come as a complete unit with detail bits to add later.the loco bit is a boiler, chimney,safety valve, cab sides, cab roof and steps.The moulded handrails have been filed off both ladies.
  So sit back, get out the popcorn and enjoy the build/re-build!!!

An update I forgot to post.underpainting on the Colletts has taken place.two sets of Peco Collett handrails purchased, not yet applied.(Too lazy to make my own and not got around to fitting them yet!) No further news as I'm awaiting a donor chassis for one of them with the correct wheel size/spacing.I want to do them as a pair.
