While waiting on the timber to start building my new bench, I came across a 3D printable model of Stephensons Rocket - so decided to download it and give it a go.
The printing took some 19 hours to print all the 50+ components - with only one minor failure - I'm still trying to figure out the best way to print the barrel for the wagon, as the bottom of is is extremely rough.

I printed out all the parts (some are in the photo below) - and started the process of cleaning them up.

I could spend hours fine detailing all of the components, but this will sit up high on a shelf when done, and will probably never be touched again after that.
I've also started the task of painting it, with the boiler being the first to receive the treatment.

If you look closely at the image, the graining that is on the side of the boiler is there - it looks like rough timber.

I couldn't find the proper yellow for this, so had to do with what I had to hand - model shops are still closed over here until next week.

It will be unique. I wouldn't worry too much about the graining, if it looks OK from 3ft away, that follows the late Rev Peter Denny's rule…
