The huge success of Tri-ang meant that the competitors Trix and Hornby- Dublo a division of Meccano where getting rather badly affected. In 1964, Hornby-Dublo, had stopped production and asked the Lines Brothers to buy them out, this they did, including a huge amount of stock. The combined railways was labled as Tri-ang Hornby even thou the vast amount of models was Tri-ang. With the name Hornby being more recognised it was decided to drop the name Tri-ang and the name we know of today was born, HORNBY RAILWAYS, awww how sweet. Im filling up with emotion now :D
Tr-ang continued making TT gauge models as well as 00/HO gauge. There is a 3mm Society who still supports those people who still model in Tri-ang TT. click on link to find out about them The 3mm Society
Also click on the link for the Tri-ang Society web page
