I enjoyed that Dave - many thanks and very well done. :cheers:cheers

I am assuming that when the locos appear to be pushing the stock,  you've reversed the video :roll: or are they actually pushing ?

Also, how do you manage to keep the track so clean outside ?  Here, there'd be leaves and all kind of cr*p within minutes.  It's problems like that that have always put me off a layout in the garden although I'd love the space it offers.  Bigger scales, it's the price but at "OO" it's the sheer problem of keeping everything working.  We get wild changes in temperature here - regularly 35C in summer and minus 10C in winter !!

No the locos are pushing the stock Peter thats why there is a driving cab at the rear of the train. Track cleaning isn't that much of a big deal to be honist. When I run the garden section proper I use an old vacume cleaner to hoover the track bed first then a quick rub over with one of those rubber sanding blocks and a way we go. The peco track works great outdoors and this year I only had to make minor repairs to the track bed where some of the mortar balast had become damaged. My only problem is the plants growing over the line in places. 00 outdoors is starting to become more popular these days judging by the sudden increese of video postings on you tube whilst I have had quite a lot of questions asking for advice on some of the forums.

Happy Birthday Dave, very enjoyable video, I like the train that openend and closed the show. The overhead arcs in the dusk shots at the end are very effective too. I think the camera angles you used at the begining are my favourite. Camera still. train passing :)

Thanks for all the feedback. Well not so much a video of the garden railway but a look at the construction on potters lane. Due to the 10 min limit on you tube its in two bits

 part 1 is…

Absolutely brilliant, great work Dave. Very entertaining and informative. Your narrative was fine.

Well done for consolidating your power supply into one source.

If I were the module co-ordinator I would work very hard to make sure we found that one extra power point so that we could get the lights and signals working on the module.

A worthwhile set of videos for anyone considering constructing a YMR Module.

Really looking forward to seeing Potters lane finished and in operation at the exhibition.
