Now that we are getting interested in the operations side of modelling some members might find this 'Fast Clock' of interest.

Tiny Tim for just Six Pounds :?:  :!:  A bargain :!:

Seriously though, this product is great value for money.  Looking around the stand-alone fast clock market the prices are ridiculously high - and even a controller circuit board can cost over $40 USD.  The only thing is - you have to have a computer in the train room.

If you download JMRI you can have a fast clock for free.
it is part of panel pro.
you just set your time and what to multiply it by then select you clock face
and away you go.
you do not have to have dcc to run it although it will look for it and not find it the fast clock will work fine.

Price wise, it is good but as Tim points out, one needs a screen in the train room.

One of DOGA members provided this article on the DOGA site about modifying a standard wall clock
http://www.doubleogauge.com/journal/clockface.htm.

I cheated on my layout - I managed to obtain 2 Digital clocks  ( $A9 each) that had figures 3" high - installed at each end of the room - they stayed in sequence for the session ( one gained a couple of minutes between sessions) - we used the real time for the timetable.

Owen, yes I am member of DOGA & being on their e-group, I get many e-mails that start off on one topic & veer off to another.
We have the same here in Aust with the BRMA e-group & it seems a common happening with any forum.
Wonder why??
