Bob, I got the Brickyard CD from then & it is good - also looking at the Windows Design package from them as well - I have asked them if that is scale variable like Brickyard & Model Builder is.

Window Designer is not scale variable - I just got this e-mail from them

Window Designer is our only product that doesn't have a scale selection on the opening screen.  
Window designer was designed based on existing buildings you may have.  This includes both manufactured buildings such as DPM or Walthers cornerstone series,and scratch built buildings that you may want to add window treatments and storefront details to.

Therefore it would be H0 scale & such some would be applicable.
I just ordered 2 different brick colour Windows & Arches from Scalescenes.

Anything else you can tell us about the software, facilities, ease of use etc, would be much appreciated.

Tim has got it as posted earlier, he had down a review but it got lost.

When I get them & played with, a review will be forthcoming.

As this is really software in discussion & as I started I started the topic in the incorrect  Section I am the moderator for, I fixed my error my moving it.

My word, you lot have good memories :!:   Yes, I do have this software, but haven't done very much with it except play around a little.  It is excellent quality though, but like anything two-dimensional needs a little "adding to."  It's also great value for money.

The programme that you had been discussing, " Modeltrain Software" does look like a good purchase, but has anybody actually used it yet.

The program concerned is actually called Model Builder Alan. Tim (Rector) bought it some time ago. I have mentioned this earlier today in another topic. If Tim sees this he may well give us an update.

I have been playing with it in the last couple of days & it is so-so, a bit complex to start with but the main fault is the flatness of doors & windows so I am going to try to use the printouts like Scalescenes concepts, in fact intermixing Scalescenes bricks & Model Builder windows, etc.

I will slowly create a thread on building the furniture factory I have mentioned in my Charde thread.

Agree Sol.  I made our club backscenes using Townscenes adding foam core and proper chimney stacks to give depth.  Not really all that happy with it - for one thing everyone seems to have Townscenes and for another, the range is dated.  As you say, you can use Scalescenes concepts with these to give them more depth (the chap in the video did that but not very well).  I see a lot of scope for ultra low relief backscenes.  (In fact Scalescenes buildings would work equally well).  Can anyone advise whether the architecture is wholly American or whether it includes more international elements?
