Christmas Advent Calender

G'day all,

For those out there that are not on the Rails of Sheffeild mailing list, you could be missing out on some great deals in regards to their Christmas Advent Calender.

Yesterdays deal was Hornby Brighton Belle in blue livery, recommended retail price of 184.49 GBP ($284.00 Au), on special for 109.50 GBP ($169.00 Au).

There is a new deal on every day upto christmas.

Cheers, Gary.

I do get them Gary but unfortunately, thus far there's been nothing to fit my era/region.

It's a good marketing idea from Rails. :thumbs

And on the Hornby website there is a similar 'Advent Calander'. This one is a daily competition to win train packs etc. No purchase necessary, but you have to register and give your inside leg measurement and so on. Todays prize is a Coronation Train Pack, loco and three coaches.

Good luck,

Paul

And as usual 95% of everything is OO gauge

Model Railways Direct has some excellent offers at the moment if anyone is interested. Stuff seems to be going fast though which isn't surprising really with some of the discounts they have.

And the question was ? (apart from Victoria coming to the throne)

1.  Brunel's SS. Great Western launched  (YMR connection via Brunel)

2.  City of Melbourne founded in Australia (YMR connection via around 8,000 members)

3. Euston station opened       (YMR connection via railways)

4. Lee & Perrins (Worcester sauce) goes on sale.  (no YMR connection but I like it ………..:roll:)

Maybe the question was fronm the previous day. It was regarding the Limited Edition LMS set…. When you northerners send an email at 2am (Australian time), I don't open my emails until 5 - 6pm that afternoon…, hmmm !

It's great being 10 - 11 hours ahead of you guys, but it does have some draw backs.

Cheers, Gary.

ps, Rails has a deal on N guage…, or was that yesterdays deal..?:lol:

That did the trick then. As soon as I say it's usually OO guage they put up an N gauge Dapol class 26 and a Hymek. Neither of any interest to me but at least they did so. Maybe they're watching…………………
