Disappearing plhotos

Hi All.   There are many fine layouts on YMRC, and many fine photographs too, but, if one doesn’t  get so see the photos straight away many seem to disappear , never to be seen again, and one is left in the dark of Bill Bloggs workmanship ( excuse the the gender gaffe) Best wishes kevin

Hi Kevin

That could be something to do with your iPad.  I can still see photos posted years ago.

By the way, we would like to see some more of your photos.

Cheers

Hi Max.  Thank you for your reply. The photos that I mean are the ones that have blanked out, something to do with â€œ Third Party Licence “ or whatever? As for photos of my work? I never seem to get anywhere, beyond my micro layouts.     Best wishes Kevin

Hi Kevin

Some photos which are hosted elsewhere than in our Gallery can disappear.

Mostly they are photos hosted by Photobucket, where the owner has chosen not to pay their new fees.

I'm In the process of restoring some of the older photos that were hosted on photobucket Kevin, it's a long term project, but I'm stalled by pre Christmas visitors taking up all my spare time at the moment.  I'm hoping to be back fairly soon working in a couple of areas putting photos back in, Just as soon as peace descends on the domestic front once again  :)
Cheers

Like Matt, I am slowly (very slowly!) moving photos to Flickr. I paid for a lower plan on Photobucket, but they have changed the rules again, so I won't be upgrading further.

The upshot is that many of my older posts with photos won't display the pics for some time to come.

If anyone comes across a particular item they really want to see, just contact me with the topic name and post number, and I'll try to fix that particular one as a priority. Otherwise, I'll only slowly backtrack to fix mine.

Jeff as I'm restoring photos across many threads/ areas on Ymr do you want me to restore any odd photos of yours I come across ? I've been asked/ given permission by some other members who want to see their photos back on YMR and am slowly working my way through multiple areas and am happy to restore yours also if I find them. I wont do your main layout threads etc as you have that under control but am more than happy to do odd photos in other areas as I find them If you wish. I'm mainly working on Roberts old posts at the moment as If I don't restore them now while they are still available they could be lost forever, but I'm also planning to tackle several members threads as time allows. Please let me know your wishes either here or via Pm
Cheers

I should add that when the forum was started Photobucket was the only way pictures could be posted, this changed as the years went by; however, many of us joined Photobucket simply to post pictures. When the posting procedure changed, I and others moved to the new system and simply stopped/forgot using Photobucket. I doubt if I have been on Photobucket for around five years.

Many of my earlier posts now have that blank picture; but I see no point in joining photobucket with the high fees, just to rescue some old pictures. Having said that, it does make some of the threads rather dull with no illustrations.
