How is it done please?

I noted quite a few forum photo's showing loco's with smoking chimneys. Could someone explain how it's done please?
I have Photoshop CS3 which I use for astrophotography and would like to try it out??

Thanks

Ron

I have never done this with loco smoke myself, but I believe the Clone Tool is used to clone smoke from a part of a picture that does have smoke and then stamp it onto the required area.

I'd try the airbrush tool with a suitable mix of greys. Do the sray on a different layer ( I think it does I automatically on a different layer anyway). If you don't like it, delete the layer and start again,

Or… Find  a picture with smoke that you like and wil fit your scene, use the magic wand select tool (I kid you not, that is what it is called) to select and copy the smoke, then paste it into your photo.
You may need to adjust the tolerances to select a broad group of greys.

Or the clone tool might work too

Lots of options.
