It's all done with mirrors

After I commented that I wish the diorama could be 10ft long,  my wife Lesley suggested we try a mirror behind it
I know many people use mirrors on their layouts, and this is nothing new, but it's new to me  :)
It's tricky lining everything up, and fun to see the results.
The photo was cropped and the brightness adjusted.

I am still amazed that this is not a real scene, it is just brilliant mate. With the mirror effect even better.

A great photo you have produced

I dont suppose you have one that didnt come out quite right that we can see how you positioned the mirror and how big the mirror is.

Sorry Brian, but no, I don't . I kept only three out of seventeen
The mirror is one of those free-standing bedroom types, lying on its side on a chair, and precariously balanced!

Whithout an explaination, Mike, you would just have an excellent photo of a layout with a background getting darker as it faded into the distance.
Excellent work my friend, excellent work :!:

You can see part of my red shirt sleeve in it.
I think it would've worked nicely with a string of identical hoppers.
Because my tracks run diagonally through the diorama, and finish on an angle to the end of it, I can't get the mirror snug to the end or the tracks have a kink.  Even my tracklaying isn't that bad.

I set things up again to show what it looks like. The high angle reveals the mirror's frame and the chasm between it and the diorama.
