To save massive amounts of scrolling, I thought I'd open a second thread for my favorite two layouts at the show.
Remember that this choice is from a "scenic fan" and does not necessarily reflect the brilliant rolling stock modelling of some exhibitors.

Firstly an Excellent O gauge husband and wife layout   …
Laira Bridge by Ray & Gwen Ashdown:-

And then a well known exhibition layout,
"Westford" by westford MRC,
Built in 4mm (16.5mm finescale), all track and buildings are scratchbuilt.
The layout was built in a 12ft garage using 4ft baseboard modules.
ONLY TWO MODULES WERE EVER SET UP TOGETHER UNTIL THE LAYOUT WAS COMPLETE, when a villiage hall was hired to put it all together for a running / testing weekend :!:
First seen in the March 2002 edition of British Railway Modelling, that's being continually improved.
This layout is 52 feet long, including the fiddle yard and over 45 feet of scenic run.
The latest plans are to add another 12 feet for a carridge repair and carriage storage shed feature :!:
As far as I'm concerned, this was the best scenic layout at the show (and one of the best currently on the exhibition round)

The right hand end finishes with a large terminus station

Looking towards the station from 2/3 along it's length

One of two loco sidings/sheds

A road goes under the tracks

A lineside farm cottage

Some of the brilliant detailing that's in evidence throughout

There you go then folks, once more, an excellent show with plenty of trade support.
From Thursday afternoon set-up to Sunday evening take-down, it's a long and tiring weekend for exhibitors, but very enjoyable indeed.

That Wesford layout was absolutely immense! It was a good show with some nice quality layouts. My personal favourite being Blea Moor and Hollys was Porth St. John. I'll post a few pics of Porth St. John in another thread for you to enjoy sometime during the next few days.

Westford is just the business.

They came to Carn Brea a few years back and were opposite our stand and I spent quite a bit of time just mesmerised!  They have a small peep hole (steady now) cut in the end of the station where you can get down to eye level and look along the length of the platforms.  It is just like being stood on the platform and looks amazing.
