Tuning in my laptop to BT

Hi All.  With the patience of a saint Matt Coleman spent time with me, from the comfort of his own armchair, getting my laptop working, after I had almost given up on it. The results were some of my photos on line. But, now I need to print and build some scalescenes warehouses to add a background scene. And it occurs to me that during the three year lay off, where I was using my iPad, I went along with BT and their “ Infinity “, which means that my laptop is singing from a different “ hymn sheet “, and now I have to do some magic with the new router and a different number. Is that straightforward??? Best wishes Kevin 

Hi Kevin,until recently I had BT.On the back of your router there will be a panel with your password on it.Cick on the internet icon bottom right hand side on your laptop and a list of connections will appear,click on yours and enter your password.That should do it.

If your PC supports it, just press the WPS button on the router. You then have 1 minute to connect to it without the need to enter the key. 

Hi Robert.  Thank you for your reply.  I have been using my iPad for quite a while now, will the iPad be affected by pressing the WFS button? As for passwords I can never remember them and even when I write them down, they still go wrong . I will do my best. Best wishes Kevin 

No - just pressing the WPS button gives you a 1-minute window to connect new devices. Nothing else affected.

Kevin if its a BT Hub the password and hub code is on the back of the router  there is a slide out plastic tab you can take to your laptop and type the password in dont worry if you loose the plastic tab as there is another sticker underneath it with the relevant information.

Hi Matt.  As I suggested, not only my mobile was flat but my iPad was too. As I had an accident with one of the charging cables , so only one device can be charged at a time. Best wishes Kevin
