Of cardboard empires and such.

A truly remarkable gentleman, who never failed to inspire and always had me laughing out loud with his hiliariouis adventures in a seemingly never ending supply of old cars, most of which he seemed to write off, whilst walking away unscathed after yet another successful journey!

You are already very sadly missed Allan, but will never be forgotten within the model railway and I am sure numerous other communities besides.

Peace and love to you dear man,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Allan was a great guy and a first class modeller, our last conversations were many months ago when I added his GWR signal box to Pen Y Bryn.

RIP Allan.

I was truly sorry to hear of Allan's demise.  He was one of the 'big names' in the model railway hobby and his books and many articles were always a pleasure to read.  A sad loss to the hobby indeed.
