A proptype for everything - even mistakes !

This caught my eye whilst waiting at the local station. 
A derailer to stop runaway trains entering the mainline is common but look what any  derailed train would collide into - its a newly erected  stanchion !!

Hi Dave,
You could have put this into "There's a Prototype for Everything" without a problem … not quite like Hints and Tips in that regard.

Where is the station in Sydney?  I initially thought Loftus but then there are several examples that look similar that I can recall…

The station is Gordon on the North Shore Line. I will post the photo under TAPFE

Hi Dave.  I have just found a former station, on the Hoo Branch in Kent, Stoke Junction Halt, been closed for many years. Buy it was operated by one man, a single line station, not a passing station but it had a token and the single member of staff did the lot Crossing Gates and all.   Best wishes Kevin
