Well, as I was at Highley on the SVR today under the guise of book-signing I took the opportunity of my lofty vantage point in the Engine House to take a few shots of this beastie (and a couple of its friends).

They should really try and lay their track a bit straighter!

I wondered what the unusual engine sounds were yesterday . You get to know the resident engines chuffing noise as they come up the bank from Kidderminster and approach Bewdley Tunnel or if they are coming from a standing start up from Bewdley especially if the rails are nice and slippery as because the line is on top of the ridge here the sounds revererate around the whole of the valley.

I didnt know Tornado was around and 828 is really something special.
