Lovely photos Thomas - am I right in thinking you were connected with photography at one time ?

Some of those locos are a bit too "boxey" for me …….:roll:  I'm more of a Gresley A4 "Streak" man ……….:cheers

Thanks for those beautiful clear photos.  Not a fan of 'boxes' but I can appreciate good photography

Is it my imagination or are the sleepers at a closer spacing than we see in UK ?

Regards,
Trevor

I am working for a company that sells photo equipment.

I like these boxey locos as they have character and are a little bit different to all the new locos that come from the same few producers of locos that nowadays dominate the market. Nowadays you can find the same shape of loco from Scandinavia to Southern Europe. I love locos from an era when each country had its distinctive designs.

Here I have a photo for you of a CD Pendolino - this is as close as it gets to a streak on Czech rails nowadays:

And here we have the pride and joy of Czech railways, Skoda`s finest a 8.700 horsepowe beast:

Trevor, I have never been in the UK so have no knowlege of sleeper spacing there.
I took the photos in station that carry heavy mainline traffic and have recently be remodelled so I think that the tracks are to high standard and use heavy rail.
