Modelling shots

Hi All,

Sunday afternoon at Banbury Station, England, May 10, 2015. The following photo's may be of interest to modellers:

Chiltern Railways DMU. Insect splatter on the end of the DMU.

Cross Country ex-Virgin DMU, platform 3, Manchester-Bournemouth. Note insect splatter in spite of that aerodynamic front, and the old Virgin emblem showing though the yellow. Quite a few scuffs on the valances plus track dirt.

And this is the bucket with washing water and broom/squeegee that is used by the drivers to remove the insect splatter. Just like the filling station. 2 each on the up and down platforms.

Semaphore signals and ground signal protecting platform 1 and sidings, and Banbury Station South signal box. All were working. Chiltern Railways Banbury depot to the right. Note differences in track heights.

Semaphore signals protecting platform 2 1/2 and platform 3, Banbury Station North signal box is further up under the bridge. All were working.

Defunct catch point, old newspaper siding.

Old Newspaper siding, turnout removed, old turnout rod wheels still there. Platform 3 track in foreground. Banbury canal to left. Note size of ballast, sleeper condition, weeds.
