Small station on the Devan & Summersett

I like that Ron. What'll happen to the point at the far end of the platform?

Cheers Pete.

Wow Sol - you moving tracks - that must be a first ………………….. :mutley :mutley

Actually, looking at that last photo, you've gained quite a lot of track space without losing much on the road side.

I have to ask - why do you need the extra tracks - is it for storage or are you rescheduling all your timetables ?

Peter, rescheduling of timetable means I will have a goods train arrive followed by a passenger that needs to have the loco run-around well before the goods train has been shunted especially if there are 12 or so wagons to go all over. Watchit does have 8 locations for wagons, etc to be set out / picked up from.

I was given an Insulfrog version tonight - that will make wiring life easier.

One end almost finished but the turnout works at least…

it was "fun" joining Peco Code 75 to handlaid Code 83 and having to take into account different sleeper thickness.

Yes Pete, I find it easier to join 75 to 100.

I like the idea of what you've done. It'll be impossible to pick once you've finished.

Fully working now & ballasted ( new ballast of course)

when the platform is modified, then ballast on that side will be finished properly

but before  that happens, track work at Tawnton & Charde to be undertaken. ( plus some reasonably massive changes in the timetables, etc as well - the crew are finding things for me to do )

Just like the real thing, always something to do. I was on the pway just outside Clapham Jct and every dat we'd jack a piece of track and tamp ballast with shovels… hard work.

Cheers Pete.

Looks very neat Sol - what do you do re ballast around the point tie-bars ?

Sometimes, I think I need a "crew" to stop me being a butterfly ……………………  I've got more "work in progress" jobs than I've had hot dinners ………

Peter. carefully paint full strength PVA & pad ballast into it - when dry , vacuum up the reminder.

Thanks Sol - isn't there a big risk that the tie bar will get glued ?

I tend to leave the area immediately around the tie bar clear of ballast but it then sticks out like a sore thumb so am always interested in how others manage………………. :hmm

Not if one puts a couple drops of oil around the tiebar itself.
