Small turntable 25foot in diameter

Hi All.   Can anyone please advise me? I am looking for a small turntable, just big enough to take an 0-6-0 Loco, about the size of a Terrier. There was a real life size one at Bembridge on the IOW. Best wishes Kevin

Hello Kevin, you might be able to use the Peco N Gauge turntable which measures 5 + 15/16" You will need to measure the wheelbase of your loco.
Obviously the deck would have to be altered to accept 00 locos.

Hi Terry.   Thank you for your reply, I don’t know if I am going “Stir Crazy “or not, but I am certain that I answered your email but now I cannot see the reply. Basically I haven’t been out by myself since lockdown. Plenty of Ambulance rides though, although I do need to get out I don’t feel safe by myself? Best wishes Kevin

Hi Kevin,

RTR or kit? Faller do a wagon turntable, kit, servo controlled. Kitwood Hills Models do a 3.5" or 5" diameter On30 turntable kit. Same gauge as OO. rue-d-etropal.com do a 84mm/3.3" diameter wagon turntable in OO. 3D print.

Other than that I think it's bash an N-gauge/HO/OO one, DIY, or use the Peco O-16.5/On30 one which is 12" long.

Not sure why you would want to turn a small tank engine though. Those turntables you are referring to were used primarily to replace a run around point and track due to space constraints.

Hi Nigel.   Thank you for your reply. In my predicament I have plenty of time to sit and dream and you have hit the nail on the head, on line there are photos of Bembridge with a Loco doing just that, a good space saving idea, but I‘m not certain if I would get back to full fitness to go through with my plan I had better finish the job in hand. Best wishes Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Sounds like you are contemplating a circular transfer table. Certainly keeps the wiring simple, as there is no need to change the polarity. What length are you looking at?

If it is kept slim enough no need to go digging holes. I was going to build some wagon turntables (EM, so nothing commercial works), let me see what I can come up with.
