And Home made Gutters

Here we are Removable roof, Stage 1: Start with 60 thou plastic sheet and make 6 template like the end pieces, but allowing about 10mm deeper to allow them to locate. Stage 2: Trim the roof very carefully, Then test for fit and and this is where you find that you need 6 hands plus 2 more and 1 to hold the glue. I settled for insulating tape to hold the roof on to the supports the start to glue.
Leave to set, And hope all is well. Oh and don't forget one roof at a time. I did not start the second half until I was happy with the first.

The roof has been sprayed matt black inside and out and dusted over with matt white just as undercoats.

One part removed, the cross batten is merely to keep the template upright and square on to the existing roof support whilst gluing.

Both roof parts removed, I will start paining the roof when I have roof vents in place.

Here shows the roof supports and how it is strengthened with curved strips of 30 or 40 thou plastic cut into 5mm strips and curved like we used to curve paper at school (long time ago)

The Gutters
A couple of years ago I decided that I wanted gutter that looked like gutters and would not fall off when I looked at them.
So here we are.
Stage 1: 60 Thou sheet plastic card (I use this thickness for industrial size gutters)
Stage 2: Score 2mm from the edge of the sheet 2-4 times then using a pointed small round file run up and down the score also using the ruler to keep in line, after a while you may like to change to a larger round file as I do. When you are happy with the depth, you can turn over and file to shape the under side of your gutter to suit.
Stage 3: You will have to work out how far your gutter is going to stick out so as to line up with your roof edge.
As you will see by my picture that is a sturdy gutter, as it needs to be given the removable roof. I also had to allow clearance notches to take into account the extra roof supports.
Oh, I nearly forgot the gutters are dammed off at each en using 20 thou plastic.

This model just gets better ! Great work on the roof. How difficult was it to remove the roof in the first place ?

Cheers, Gary.
