Front end showing motion bracket, splashers and buffer beam bracket. Note axle bushes soldered in as well.
Rear end of chassis with rear bogie housing.
Inner and outer chassis joining for rear bogie.
Motion bracket and front splashers
Front end so far. Once the cylinders have been screwed in place the gap between the two chassis pieces will close up.
That's it till next weekend.

They are not letting you down from where I am standing. However, I'll take your word for it. These things tend to creep up a bit. Just keep them supple …….. I prescribe beer for that job ……… Lots of it.
Good to see this coming together,
Cheers

The backhead so far. This went reasonably well but there are lots of little holes to drill in some of the fittings. They don't tell you if they have to go all the way through, except on the Regulator Brackets so I only opened them out a little bit as they only have to take the ends of wires to represent the pipework.
The loco body. The main Injector pipe was fairly straight forward but the smaller Smoke box pipe was a bitch to get the shape right. I think it looks about there. The instructions on the shaping of this bit is very vauge. Part of the tasks was to fit the small handles on the drop down plates on the bdy but as these are likely to get in the way for other stages I'm leaving them till the end of the build.
Another view of the loco body.
The final task was to fold up the tender Inner chassis. I havent soldered it yet as there looks like there are bits to fit inbetween the frames so until I get them I'll hold on.
Next weeks bits are the cab roof (don't ask me why). This will be built and put to one side until later on the build as it will be easier to fit the backhead assemblies etc with the roof off.
Catch you all next time.
