One station of the Devan & Summersett

The warehouse/ goods shed as described in the Scalescenes section

now has a platform = made from MDF with balsa to get the correct height

added stone paper from Brickyard software

using a spreadsheet, created edge slabs of a light grey strip & Scalescenes Platform paper to give the surface

and this is how it looks - still to be ballasted in, weathered & normal goods shed  odds & sods & steps to be added.

The close up shows the bent pin holding the track - will need removal.

Very nice job Sol

And it fits in that space just a treat :thumbs, Are you going to ballast the whole layout at the same time or are you going to do a section at a time as you finish it ?

Alan, thanks, that low relief building was ideal for that space. At this stage, ballasting will be done in sections - the next building will be the L+S Doors at the end of the same siding & using a Scalescenes TO26 large factory/warehouse using the photos you supplied earlier as a guide then I can ballast that area.
Like most of us, I am working on about 26.5 jobs at the same time all over the layout.

Good use of printed papers Ron, looks great, are you, or have you, sealed it with a matt finish?

Good O

I too have made one of the freebies from scalescenes, the little goods shed, N scale mind you!!!

I'll get some photos and do a post soon.

The matt medium only went on after I'd finished.

My Barnstable station building is nowhere as imposing as the original at Barnstaple

Not built by me but by my mate Robbo , he adapted one of his discards to suit. Built from balsa & card, brick paper for the chimney & commercial corrugated roof. Walls are scribed balsa.

The platform to get the same treatment as the warehouse/goods shed.

Robbo does his platforms the same way - scribing balsa.
He had built Gawler Station building etc in H0 & 0 scales the same way & that is huge
