Took a good look over the weekend and those ID backscenes really do look good. Added to my evergrowing wish list! Thank you!

Its been a while since I posted anything on here as I have been busy building more loco kits and various other things and not spent much time working on the layout.
First up was a Jamieson Jubilee kit. Took a lot of time and fiddling as they are basic sheet metal kits pre-formed into the shapes, but with no detail, but I am pretty happy with the outcome. I utilized a Comet chassis, with a Highlevel gearbox and Mashima motor; 





followed by some Airfix kits to use as loads for 2 new Bachmann Parrot wagons (25pdr field gun and quad vehicles);


and currently, in the process of building a Phoenix (BSL) 62ft Corridor Brake Composite coach;

I don't really feel qualified to comment Ian - this is top class modelling.  One of the layouts I for one, fall far short of being able to even come close to emulating.  :thumbs :thumbs

Thank you for the kind comments, but I wouldn't go as far as that Peter, your layout is looking very good and coming along nicely!

Here is the completed Phoenix (BSL) Coach. Now working on some 3-plank wagons and a few Ratio Suburban coaches (Sheffield type) to add to the ever growing collection. Oh, and completed my Pro-cast Webb Coal Tank.
Really must get back to working on the layout!!

That is amazing modelling.  I have nightmares about opening up a pre-made loco to add a decoder! I wouldn't know where to start with that type level of modelling!

Thank you Chris. It took me a long time to pluck up the courage to build a loco kit and i still struggle especially with reliable pick up and running. The coach was definately a challenge but i am struggling with lining my Ratio suburbans. Not my strong point!!!!

Yes, first class modelling.  Although it might be better to say first class engineering.  A fantastic finish to go with the quality of the rest of the layout.

Great job on both items Ian.The loco is one I would love to have myself in N gauge and the coach is done so well it looks just the job.i can't believe you struggle with anything, least of all lining you're far too modest mate!

I will post my first attempt at using an easi-liner pen to show you just how bad i am. Plucking up courage to try again but maybe with a bow pen!!!!
 

The Ratio suburban has been modified with a queen post trellis underframe to match the Sheffield set. This will allow me to have a short set of 4 coaches for my relatively small layout

Looks alright from here Ian, but TBH you didn't exactly do any easy one first  :roll:

This is a class site Ian so I can't understand why you're posting such rubbish !!!  If I were you, I'd chuck that Easi-Lined coach in a bin bag along with the  earlier BSL coach.  Oh yes, and that apology of a locomotive might as well join them too.

I'm pretty sure we're not looking at the same coach Ian - that lining looks fantastic.  In fact, scrolling back to make sure I was writing about the right model, I had another look at some of your other work.  I've said it before but I'll repeat that this is really first class modelling.  I've no idea how you guys turn out stuff like this but I'm truly in awe.

It has all been said already, but I will still chip in.  Your model making is just wonderful.  I would not know where to begin and would certainly never reach your standard, but it is still an inspiration about what can be achieved.  If those were produced by one of the manufacturers, people would be drooling over them and they would be charging a small fortune.  The Phoenix BSL coach is just superb…. the locos are even better!

Obviously, when trying out a new skill, one tends to go in gently…. perhaps a single line down a coach body, or, at a push, a bit of lining on a loco.  But not you, oh no.  That is your first attempt?  And it's rubbish?  I think not Sir!
