ScR steam in the 50's

 - thanks for the compliments..here are another two of the photo/play session from the other night. For a small outpost in the Far north Helmsdale had moments of interesting activity, and it has been fortunate that there are several recollections of daily activity recorded which help flesh out the bare bones of timetable schedules, and I enjoy enacting  these far more than watching a succession of long trains whizzing around a layout. Good job too, as I don't have the room for such a thing…This is Helmsdale's last Small Ben doing what it was kept around for.

I'll second what's already been said Richard.   :thumbs

I've followed your thread from the start and there really are some stunning photos of some highly detailed and professional modelling.  Helmsdale may well be a small backwater somewhere "north of Watford" but you're capturing the scene perfectly - even without having to resort to my Gresley A4 "Streaks".

Really inspiring modelling from which most of us can learn although your bar is way above the level I'm ever likely to reach.   :pathead

I've been going through my threads on another forum that has managed to lose ten years worth of images, rendering it almost irrelevant, with a view to salvaging as much as I can, and have been sorting out pics from the previous layout, which I can't remember if I featured here much, although the link to my layout on the index page shows one from then. Anyway, here are one or two of the departed one.

I for one am looking forward to seeing some more pic's of that layout. As Peter said, you've set the bar really high.

Cheers Pete.

Love the photos. There are two problems! 1- it puts my efforts on finishing things to shame and 2 - it gives me new ideas for additions to the layout. Unfortunately I have got so many things on the go already there is going to have to be a for letter word involved - a PLAN. Keep the photos coming though as it is great to see what can be achieved.

Apart from your modelling skills, your back scenes bring everything to life.

Cheers Pete.

Great pictures. I love looking at other peoples detailing the only down side is it gives me more ideas of which I have enough. Although that signal box looks a very interesting project ....

Even amongst the other superb photo's, the second one in that last lot stands out as realistic rock faces.

Cheers Pete.
