I have just finished what will be a new American N Scale layout over the top of my existing British N Gauge layout, the era will be late 1960s early 1970s, it will be a freelance type layout loosely located in Western Kansas, I chose Kansas because its as flat as a pancake and I didn't want to get to involved with scenery because of the possibility of making a mess of the layout below.

It will have two towns one larger than the other, lots of Corn, Wheat and Sunflower fields, a Grain loading Silo, Passenger train storage yards and general Industry Sidings including Oil, the only raised scenery will be something that resembles the Monument Rocks area, wouldn't have a clue how close the nearest railroad is to these rocks but in my world SantaFe and UP locos would look pretty OK passing by, here are a couple of pictures of where I am at the moment.

Putting those boards over the top makes the British layout look dull and grey, just like their weather...!

Before you southern hemisphere types get too carried away…  It's clear and sunny here in south-east England this morning.
