Western Region inner-city branch line station

This is Bristol Rowenwood, a fictional inner-city branch line terminus with lines to Bristol Temple Meads and Clifton. Set in the early 60s, the layout will feature mainly Steam locos :) with a few Green diesels. The small stabling yard takes locos from the main line and offers extra space during holiday weekends for express locomotives when the main shed is full as well as hosting the branch's collection of locos.

This loose map shows the position of Rowenwood in Bristol. this would allow me to run services to and from Temple Meads and Clifton as well as a terminating service from Severn Beach. The stabling yard can host locos from Western, Southern and Midland Regions  so I can buy pretty much anything I want.  One question, I've bought peco code 100 points, what do i do with the wire attached to the bottom? Just cut it off? I've never worked with the points before and don't want to waste my money, the budgets tight enough as it is
Any feedback welcome.

Alex, that wire is used to switch the frogs - the instruction sheet describes how it is used.
