Did I show you this, Owen?

With recent upgrades to Firefox, some of us are unable to Insert existing photos from the Gallery.

A fix is being worked on by our hosts, but in the meantime, here is the work around . . .

Launch the Forum and hit Help  >  "About Firefox" and make sure that it's up to date.

First thing, upload your images into the Gallery.

Then open a Reply box.  Start typing your first words . . .

Launch a second tab of the Forum  >  Go to  >  Menu  >  Gallery  >

and click on the image you want to insert.  That will make a big copy on the screen.

Left click on that big image and hold while you drag the cursor to the    first tab  > and continue to hold until the first tab opens  >     then, still holding, drag the cursor to the Reply box and release.

It's a simple drag and drop from one tab to the other, but remember to:-

Check that your version of Firefox is the latest one.

Open the Reply box and start typing your text before you open the second tab.

It's a work around until Alan can get the problem sorted.

Of course, there's always Photobucket.

Cheers

It seems to have mixed reviews when searching the web and the majority I have read said either it didn't work, or the bond came apart over time. (But you can never believe what you read on the web )

Perhaps depends on what materials your trying to bond  :hmm

Any idea how it works out price wise against Cyano/super glue, Owen.

Ed I have tried it on a metal con rod and a drive wheel pin both metal and it was fine, also my car dash camera holder got a split plastic nut a large plastic thing it repaired that ok too, ok it took two goes for that one but it tells you that in the destructions,as for cost  those three items used a miniscule amount of the fluid, Iwould of used a lot more super glue or styrene cement,it is a bit pricey but it is new  six mths on who knows??

Photo-activated adhesives - just make sure it gets activated with UV that will go through plastic (near UV), otherwise it won't as most plastic will block UV. Glass to metal will work, metal to metal won't. I believe this kit comes with a light (which means a new light every time it's bought). Loctite 34931 comes in a 50ml bottle, you provide the light. Activated by a UV lamp (wear goggles).

This sort of product is common in the dental trade - especially for cosmetic (white) fillings.

The strength of these adhesives is down to what the polymer is - often acrylic based.
