Advertising hoardings

I've hunted the internet for examples of the Strong & Company adverts along the line form Waterloo to Bournemouth and Weymouth, they looked similar to this one outside Alton station, but somewhat larger, the wording changed the closer you came to  Southampton. (Strong's brewery was at Romsey)

It started as "You're going to the Strong Country" then the one below, next was "You're nearly in … …", lastly "You're in the .. …. They also changed through the years, the loco I first recall was an N15 class King Arthur in Maunsell livery, then a Lord Nelson in Malachite ending with the spam can.

I would very much like one of the N15 ones with "You're in the Strong Country" on my layout, if I could find a decent pic of an N15 on a train at about the same angle (in colour)  I'd have a go at pasting it over the spam can. I'd even settle for a Nelson, I could always edit the colour.

If anybody knows of the whereabouts of anything suitable please let me know. I've found loads of images of old enamel ads on line, printed them out on label stock to adorn station and building walls, this one just buigs ne though!

Hi Gary, thanks for those, I may be able to use some of the SR ones, but they are all Railway company publicity posters, the ones I am after were ads for Strong & co brewers of Romsey.  Massive hoardings in fields, undeveloped sites, or on the sides of large buildings.

One the size of the pic I posted would be about the right size for 00 gauge, scaling in excess of 20' /6M+ high.

Given a half decent pic of an N15 on a train of Pullmans I could improve on this

Needs front bogie wheels rerailing, headcode discs, but above all squaring up the original pic of the ad and some better scenery around the train! (The remains of the Peco goods shed losing for a start)

Not as silly as it sounds Mike, I bet you could make it work and it would be quite unique?

Sorted! Made new black frame, added lettering, probably get some rivet counter saying it's the wrong font, but if any copyright remains that might be enough to counter that, found the pic on line had been a ciggy card originally, resized and did a copy paste, tweaked the colours a bit, added headcodes. Think size is about right for N gauge, scales to a bit over 20' wide 15' high. It will need mounting or printing to card, and then square posts behind with  support legs. These pics are .jpg's, I have .tif's if anybody wants to resize to 00 or larger, they are OK up to about 150mm wide before they start to pixellate so 0 gauge is about the limit.

No no no Marty, it's a Passenger train, that green trail behind Nelly is meant to be coaches, goods trucks were all different drab colours.
