where to put my drooper wires

I am at the point where I am now laying track for my new layout, and going DCC for the first time and using electrofrog points, also for the first time.  So I am preparing the points to be "DCC friendly".  I know I have to remove the jumper wires and add a wire between the stock rail and the closure rail.  Then I have to add droppers to connect to the bus wires.  My question is, could I use a dropper wire to connect the stock rail and closure rail - meaning that I don't have to do so much soldering on the point, or will this cause me problems?

Yes you can Michael.

I can't do "pictures" but I solder a single wire to, in turn, the switch rail, the stock rail then through the baseboard to my bus cables.  In fact, it's 2 similar wires - 1 red and 1 black.

If you're using electrofrog points, you'll also need a wire for frog polarity switching but that's another matter ……………

I think Petermac has covered it all.Don't forget the insulated rail joiners on the frog rails.

By cutting the jumpers you mean the ones between the closure and frog rails?

Edit: I had to have a look at the instructions - long time since I used them. Closure and frog rails. Add jumpers from the stock rails to the closure and point blade rails. You should also power the frog as the rails are now too long. You can also leave the jumpers in place and cut the frog rails closer to the v of the frog. It's also useful to cut the frog exit rails as well if you want a really short frog and insulate there rather than at the ends. As long as the frog is powered via the turnout motor and the rails do not creep you don't really need insulators. Add them for insurance.
