Utilising as part of a station throat

Hi All.  At long last, I would like to add a station, BLT , to my layout, that began as Inglenook junction. I have a Peco three way asymmetric point that was proving a problem to wire, which leaves me the need to purchase of two motors with to keep it simple, rather than WIT which is my preference. Question being, can I squeeze a two carriage train platform and a run round loop onto a four foot long plank utilising the three way asymmetric point, and of course another point at the end of the loop. Oh and how do I control the route.  Best wishes Kevin

Rule of thumb Kevin is to allow a foot pet coach, loco, point, etc. So for a two carriage train, you'd need 5 foot plus run round space each end for the loco. Seven feet then, so looks tight! Slightly Less for small radius points and tank engine.

Less for a DMU, needing no run round, so just three feet, including the point.

There's nothing better than setting it out on your baseboard however, using a tape measure and chaulk.

I'd stick to WIT for the point control though, as you know how to do it and it works for you.

Hi Bill.  Thank you for your reply. The whole point of the exercise was to try modern point motors for the first time, and utilise the point/s with route control . Best wishes Kevin
