I may have bit off more than I can chew

Hi All.  This is a sort of cut and shut job?  I have purchased myself a Peco signal box kit , well that part was easy. And then being a smarty pants, I thought about a name plate for it. There lies the problem, the name plate is longer than the box, maybe I should have ordered N gauge lettering, Nah that would have been wrong. Now I am looking for either a longer kit (timber built) or purchase some suitable timber style plastic sheet material that matches the original and some windows, and of course a new roof. And then cutting the new bits to suit ,except being a bit longer, and while I am at it maybe and outside loo at the top of the stairs??? Please advise. Best wishes Kevin

  I would have thought making a new taller name plate base from plasticard, so the long name could be stuck on it in two lines, rather than one long one, would be far easier than your plan to stretch the whole building Kevin.

Yes Kevin, it is the height, as you need to place the signal box name on two rows, ie. shorter, but higher board to fit in the face of the building.

Best option by far to lengthen your signal box is to buy another kit Kevin and join them ............ :cool wink

Hi Petermac.  Thank you for your reply. My idea, at the time of writing, was to purchase plastic/ timber planking and cut a new front and back. Plus the roof, and substitute for the original. Best wishes Kevin 

Easier and probably cheaper to buy another box Kevin ……………….

It will be difficult to match the planking and the windows will be a right PITA !!
