not sure if this will help those using windows 11 ?

https://winaero.com/how-to-unblock-files-downloaded-from-the-internet-in-windows-11/amp/

Can I get some feedback from those who download and attempt to unzip and then run the Jigsaw file please. It's  a bit hard diagnosing problems in the dark 🤪

See my post in "Jigsaw 680" - here in France, the important bit is that extra stage, checking the "Unblock" box on the "Properties" menu once the jigsaw has been extracted.

Mine works just fine Peter and I also use Firefox and am on Windows 10. I download and save the file, then click to open and when the warning notice comes, I hit "open anyway", then enjoy the jigsaw.

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

I don't get the option to 'run anyway'  Bill - just 'Don't Run'.

I started it Ed - a bit monotone it appears but had to go out.  I'm about to go back to it but wonder if it saved what I'd done.  With the crane, I had to start all over again.

I'm sure that before, clicking 'back' followed by 'exit' saved it ready for a re-start…..   I'll let you know when I get back onto the desktop.

Matt - if you read this, we're still getting odd shaped pieces - not as wild as before but not 'regular' shaped.  Can you check again and see if there's something like 'regular' on the choice of shapes ……

I rather like the irregularity of puzzle pieces from time to time, as it adds interest.

There is a choice of shapes Peter and on that I chose regular. Then there is a sliding scale that starts off just left of centre. Moving it right distorts the pieces more and more, moving it left straitens the pieces more and more. Full left leaves almost oblong pieces with 'ears' but no shape so I moved it back to the right a bit to give a bit of shape ? There are no real markings so it's pretty much guesswork  to get the best of both worlds. I'll  ease it a bit more to the left on the next one. Now I've  got it sorted and working I'll  play about a bit more to see what works best.

When I took the photo The sky was quite grey if I remember, and there was quite a bit of smoke/ steam about. It was one of the Bo'ness  steam Gala days. I'll  wait to see if anyone spots anything unusual  about the photo 🤔

Cheers

Matt

Not sure what you mean about "odd" in the photo Matt …………………3 locos attached to a that coach might be considered odd and of course, it being Bo-ness, if the sun had been shining that would indeed have been odd …………

Is it maybe that spelling - "Bo-Ness" - should it be Bowness ???

Up a tree ?  A drone ?  A sky hook ?  A hot air balloon?

Yup, a drone shot hovering about 100ft up, just behind the signal box. I didn't  even know the Gala day was on and was driving by just as they were doing the shunt for the final parade. Five locos hooked and moved to the centre line for a 'Parade' photo. I only had time for a couple of shots and a bit of video.

Anyone else tried aerial photography from a drone ?  It certainly  opens up new horizons !

I have a friend (or rather an 'acquaintance' who does drone photography and filming professionally Matt but I cough at the cost of his gear.

Several ads keep popping up on FB for drones and I think, oh, that looks good and it's under €100.  Then you realise the sub €100 version is nothing like the one in the advert.

I'd quite like a drone but fear it might be a 5 minute wonder - a bit like my GoPro camera and 3 'handicam' type video cameras - all bought because with one, I could do xxxxx which the 'old one can't do !!

I got mine for my 65th birthday  Peter. Looked at them years ago but the quality was average and the price extortionate!
asked what I wanted for my Birthday, I suddenly  remembered my previous interest and look at the current choices available. The quality  has gone up in leaps and bounds and although the dji ones  I was looking  at were expensive, they weren't extortionate for the lower end models.  We were about to 'press the button' when I spotted adverts and reviews  for the Potensic Atom. It got good reviews  from long time fliers who regularly fly the dji range and who were impressed  with the performance  of, and rated the Atom up there with the dji.
Ended up getting  the Potensic Atom fly more package on offer (£100 off) at just under £300 pounds and must admit as a first time drone operator I have been well impressed with it !
. Ive not had a huge amount of flying time yet but have thoroughly  enjoyed what time I HAVE  had

That reminds me, I've got a drone as well, bought some few years ago from Lidl for about 60€. It seemed a good bloke gadget and I bought an automatic trail camera at the same time for about the same price. The camera has had good use, while the drone is still waiting its maiden flight, safely nestling in its unopened box.

One day.

Q.E.D. Bill - my point exactly.

I've been told that you need to spend at least €200 on a camera fitted drone for it to be anything more than a toy and, whilst I'm sure the first few hours flying would be great fun, I wonder how long it would be before you wish you had this function or that function - only available on the more expensive models.  Then another interest would crop up and the drone would rest in its box, batteries decaying awaiting hand on to one's next of kin or simply the bin …………………  I have boxes full of such things proving my point.  Fortunately, as I'm no longer salaried, and DCC sound is SO expensive, I don't have the cash to fritter nowadays ………………………….
