Roket 'Glue and Glaze' Warning

As I'm packing things away again, I happened to be sorting my glues etc out and discovered my bottle of the above had gone brown. As its used to glue clear acetates to other materials without showing a glue line, this ain't good news….

The reason? The dratted ball-headed pin I used to seal the tiny hole in the top had gone rusty, and dropped into the bottle. Some time ago, I had some Metcalfe glue applicators with non-stainless steel pins, it must have come from one of those.

[Metcalfe have subsequently changed the pins they now supply their applicators with.]

Check now, it ain't cheap, and it's a shame to waste SLW tokens!

Hi Doug,

Confirmation that glues and adhesives that are environment sensitive (temperature, humidity, light) should be bought in small quantities, not by the pint.

True, Nigel! The darn stuff is dearer per litre than SLW, luckily it comes in 100ml bottles.
