Its often said that there is not much choice of boats and ships in N gauge scales for modellers (for harbour scenes, etc). But of recent I've found that Tomytec (1/150 scale) produce a number of RTR boats such as sea going barges and fishing trawlers and now I've managed to purchase a plastic kit of a gunship called 'Zhong Shan' made by Trumpeter in 1/150 scale. It's Chinese (both made and prototype, I think) and the kit seems quite old and cruder than todays standards, but it looks like it'll build in to a nice model and can be easily improved and/or bashed.

I look forward to some pics of the warship. I guess in Europe/US the nearest popular scale would be 1/144 scale? I have been impressed with Tomytec products in the past too.

I was just having a look at the kit in question and came across this video of the actual ship.
Thought it might help when you come to build the model………:thumbs

If you want something a bit bigger you could get one of theses Revell Online-Shop // Model Construction // Remote Control Cars // 3D Puzzle a bit of work it could be made in to a 1940-1970 British destroyer depending which class you change it in to

Progress is very slow - this 1:150 gun boat is just one of many projects being worked on - but here is a pic as requested. I've drilled out all the port-holes and assembled the hull and main decking. The rear angled walls had to be scratch-built. Also some of the superstructure has been put together but is not yet attached as it requires detailing and painting.
