Simple tools for modelling...

As some of you are aware, I have used Lego in the past as a modelling aid. Being very versatile, it can be used for a range of tasks. Below are just a few of them. Please add any other variations where Lego can assist with modelling.

The set square…

Below. The corner brace/set square used whilst glueing wall corners. This is how the bricks are arrange to get around any supports in the internal corners of a wall, but still keeping everything square. This can be built to any length.

Supports… A variety of bricks can be built up to any height to help stabilize models when glueing…

And my favourite…, Scale blocks ! Would you believe that the Lego block is equivilant to OO scale feet measurements !

Hope this is helpful. I know it will be for when I start the build of my engine shed…

Cheers, Gary.

While on a coach tour of Berlin last summer I noticed this creative use of Lego/Duplo bricks. - A prototype for everything?

Whenever I write a letter to someone, I add a footnote briefly explaining Ohm's law. It's my P.S. de resistance.

Yet another market for the stuff !!!  Don't let them see it without getting a reward Gary……

The Englishman who actually invented the system on which Lego is very closely based - but forgot to get a World Wide Patent (only a UK one), unfortunately didn't live to see his invention become the fastest growing toy in the world.

Check out "Hilary Fisher Page"
