Rod and 'O' spring

I thought I would do a mock-up of a rod operated system for New End, and after much faffing about involving different cranks etc chose the simplest system I could do with what I had available. I made some guides by soldering some 4mm diameter brass tube to  3mm brass strip to make guides as I had no brass hinges available to take apart for the job, a quicker way of doing it.

It seems to work very well, with  drop of Loctite on the connector screw threads I hope it proves reliable. The turnout is protected from over-enthusiastic operation by the in and out stops, and the 'O' spring.

I hope this gives someone an idea or two and that it's not too granny and eggsucking!

Poop poop,

Doug

Impressed Doug, not least with your soldering!
Could you think of a way to incorporate a switch for frog polarity?

Thank you, Ron,

I have some lever microswitches on order, the arm of each will be activated by the pressure of the protruding screw head of one of the connector blocks.
