I'm still at the stage of armchair modelling as I read as much as possible before starting on my first layout. (Conditioned by the fact I have a lot of house fixing jobs to do first before I start on it). I have recently come up with a fairly simple terminus layout design which I am playing around with on paper but could be the basis of a first attempt - more on that later if I get that far! it is somewhat on the lines of a modified C J Freezer "Minories". For fun I've been creating a timetable sequence for a day's running of both local passenger and goods. This is indicating it may be fairly interesting to operate. In thinking about the timetable I thought it may be helpful to find a fast clock online or as an App. After searching off and on for a bit I have found the following links which may be useful to some.

For Windows users (maybe older versions):
http://www.wesleysteiner.com/mrsoftware/mrfastclock.html
for those on Mac or other systems then he has a browser version which works fine:
http://www.wesleysteiner.com/mr/mrfc/mrfc.html

Probably some will arleady know there is an Android app on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.kelly.lorne.fastclock&hl=en

However I haven't found an iPhone version.
Of course there's always the hardware version with some digital clocks and a simple circuit that can be found online, but at present a simple quick fix through online links is easier!

Trust these may be of help to some

The Minories  seems to be the classic favorite Ray .  Many have used that layout as a basis to design a layout .  I don,t think you will go far wrong.   Good luck with it when you do get started.;-)

As Reg says, Cyril Freezer's "Minories" is one of the best small layout designs seen anywhere in the hobby.  A true masterpiece of very simple planning and one that has been used "as is" or in modified form on thousands of layouts.

I think Max (MaxSouthOz) had a fast clock design somewhere …………………..:roll::roll:

Not I, Peter.  The only fast clock I have is the one in the bedroom, which gets to MORNING way too fast.

Sol has one in his train room.  It's loaded into an old computer with the screen mounted on the wall.

I have also seen the face of a standard analogue clock modified to make it read as a 24 hour dial.
It should be possible to make that read 4:1 as a 48 hour dial.

The trouble with Fast Clocks is that you get to that final day a lot quicker.

I'm old, that's why I'm allowed to change my mind, when I can find it.

Thanks Sol / Ron
That looks interesting as it seems to include some form of timetabling ability.
I'm wondering if anyone is actually using the Station Blue system on a layout?
