Tabs sold once more in micro-corrugated box material
Put the cut up box card between fairly damp kitchen paper and leave, lightly weighted down for several hours. Peel off the brown paper backing. For flat sheet, lay between sheets of dry kitchen paper and weight down, I use a chopping board. For the curved sheets, I smooth the card over a bottle and then wrap in a dry tea towel. A spray with Halford's primer seals the surface so that it doesn't fluff up when painted with acrylics, etc.
