Trying to get the colour correct for the stone on that unusual cottage I posted, I was using a downloaded stone texture but it printed way too brown so I tried tweaking colour balance settings, but couldn't get close enough to the greyish colour, then I had an idea, why not start from grey!!!!! so I selected convert to grey scale, but that stopped selection of "change colour balance" so I then selected convert to RGB, (surprise it stayed grey) but now I could tweak colour balance and got much closer to the shade I wanted.

Good idea, Mike 👍

By accident I discovered that printing Scalescenes slates in grey-scale lost the 'generic' blue tint that they come with (see my cottage/shop thread)

I didn't think of RGB adjustment as you suggest, but shall consider it from now on.

It could be useful for a subtle variation in tone for closely grouped buildings, good idea!
