I have used double sided tape to stick the track down and to hold the ballast in place. This works fine until you want to move some track and the you tend to ruin what you try to lift.

I had this pointed out to me and it is so much better and easier.

I have bought their 5 metre pack and got a 5% off voucher.

I have used it on my new test/running in track. (pics later) without removing the backing for long straighte and with the backing removed for curves.

It is easy and fast to use but considerably more costly than ballast and glue. Ok for smaller layouts or for the rich among us.:hmm :Happy

I use the double sided tape method and find that it is very economical, I must have changed my layout at least a dozen times and I am still using my original ballast and grass scatter. I didn't have a large amount to start with, a little goes a long way, and when I have moved the track the tape peels easily from the bottom of the track.

I had a quick look and I am not too sure how it works. Do you have to add loose ballast once it is position? I am trying to work out how you "bed" the track in once it is laid.
