Bought a 3ltr Storage box from Poundland this morning. Thinking outside the box (excuse the pun) I realised that it  is an ideal size for placing over models after painting to keep the dust off whilst it is drying. It is also big enough for some O gauge wagons and small locos.

I'm old, that's why I'm allowed to change my mind, when I can find it.

Hi Mike,

Good idea for acrylics, solvent based paints would benefit from some ventilation. Drill some large holes either end or the top, cover with some of those filters for cat litter boxes. Raise the box slightly with some wood shims.

I'm cheap, I save cereal boxes and make a tent from one with some masking tape, block the ends with pieces cut from another cereal box. Printed side in. Most dust particles fall downwards. Unless you have forced air heating/cooling (unlikely in Plymouth) or dry outside.

Then again, I use a small hairdryer on low when I'm painting freight cars/vans/wagons/passenger cars as I like to turn them when drying, hopefully the filters on the air conditioning (HEPA 100) take care of dust particles.
