Holding small parts for painting

Handy way of holding small bits on a sprue, I cut a slot or small hole  in a scrap piece of foam board then push the items into the slot, then   can hold the foam board and paint away, these are some cast white metal  chimney pots from Scalelink still on their sprue, sprues pushed into  slots, then painted without getting paint on fingers nor finger marks on  items.


Leave them stuck in the foam board to dry.

Some items not on sprue can be done in a similar way, stick one  end into the foam board, paint the other end, when dry swap ends.

That's a good idea. I tend to use blu-tac, but there is slight movement during painting, so I will try this idea. Thanks for posting.
