Announced  they will produce a GWR 56xx in N gauge.

My reaction:-

Bah another greasy wet & rusty loco, when are manufacturers going to  remember there were other railways; I suppose it's easy for them,  all  the 4-6-0s look almost the same just bigger or smaller and the tanks are  either panniers or similar looking side tanks with a variety of wheels, none have  outside valve gear; too blxxdy easy,  no real challenge.
There  are still no RTR Southern 4-6-0s, 5 classes to choose from only, 2 tanks  that I can think of M7 and Terrier, now four 0-6-0s with the newly arrived class C and one 4-4-0   when  will they realise there were more than just Bulleid pacifics on the SR.

OK its good to see another manufacturer of N gauge steam, just a disappointment for me that its not SR

Cheers MIKE

Sympathies Mike, but I suspect it's just demand.

They're probably going to sell more green, wet and rusty.

It's a catch 22 situation, "nobody models the Southern 'cos no-one makes Southern models - nobody makes Southern models because nobody models the Southern"

Is there a GWR 4-6-0 that is not available RTR in N gauge? SR had 5 classes of 4-6-0 none available RTR; almost the same with GWR tanks, SR tanks only  M7 and Terrier; slightly better with four SR 0-6-0s , but then they don't have valve gear

Bulleid pacifics ain't much use if you model pre WW2;  only two kits of 4-6-0s which are getting a bit dated.

Cheers MIKE
